Stoiximan picked up seven gongs at the first Greek Bookmaker Awards, held in Athens on Thursday (23 January) and hosted by Better Collective.
The OPAP-controlled operatorwon more than half of the 12 awards presented on the night. It won the prizes for Best Markets Selection, Best Social Media Engagement, Best Banking Options, Best User Experience, Best Sports Betting Bookmaker, Best Sports Betting Bookmaker (Players’ Choice) and Best Innovation in Sports Betting Experience.
No other operator won more than one award. Betrebels won for Best Basketball Odds, Championsbet for Best Football Odds, Goalbet for Best Customer Service, bet365 for Best Welcome Offers and bwin for Best Existing Customer Offers.
All of the awards except for the players’ choice award – which was voted by users on Betarades.gr – were judged by analysing data from September 2019 to December 2019. All bookmakers licensed in Greece were automatically considered for all of the awards except for the Best Innovation award, for which operators had to submit a written nomination.
The categories were selected by a focus group of Greek players.

In October 2019, Greece passed a series of gambling reforms, including a €3m licence fee and a 35% gross revenue tax for licensees. In 2011, 24 Greek operators were issued temporary licences to operate in the market, which will expire on 31 March, 2020. Operators will have to reapply for certification after this date.
