GTECH reports ‘good’ quarter

Gaming firm GTECH reported revenues of €730m for the third quarter, a fall of €10m against the same period 2012. Revenues from its Americas divisions were up 17 percent, to €251m, driven by the sale of gaming equipment to the Canadian market, a 4.4 percent increase in lottery same store revenue and reimbursement of certain operating expenses received from the Indiana Lottery.

The company’s revenues from the international market dropped €32m to €81m, which it attributed largely to higher product sales in the third quarter of 2012. Reported EBITDA was €219m, including a €30m one-time provision for a machine gaming litigation settlement in Italy.

“We achieved good results in the third quarter highlighted by continued growth in the Americas and gains in the Italian lotteries,” CEO Marco Sala said. “We maintain our disciplined approach to capital allocation, while continuing to explore potential new global operator opportunities.”
