PartyPoker vows to be more open with online poker players

PartyPoker vows to be more open with online poker playersPartyPoker, the online poke brand of online gaming operator bwin.party, has pledged to develop better communication channels with its customers.

Jeffrey Haas, the company’s new director of poker, outlined PartyPoker’s promise to communicate more openly and regularly with customers.

“With my arrival, I can safely say that the ‘run silent, run deep’ approach has been scrapped for good. Just so it’s clear: we are truly sorry for our silence, and will do much better in the future,” Haas said.

The move comes after PartyPoker customers became frustrated at the site’s player segregation system on the Two Plus Two Forums, a system that was implemented to separate and protect new and inexperienced players from ‘sharks’.

However, players have pointed out that such ‘sharks’ can still find ways of getting into protected player groups.

PartyPoker first introduced the controversial policy in February of this year, but the company was criticised by some customers for failing to inform them about the reasons behind the move.

Haas said because PartyPoker deemed the reasons behind the move to be confidential and proprietary, this had led to misunderstanding amongst the player community.

“This speculation has been due to our own silence about the implications of this functionality on our poker room, how it was intended to work, or why we were introducing these tables,” Haas added.
