Creative handed lucrative William Hill advertising account

Creative handed lucrative William Hill advertising accountStrategy, advertising and design agency Creative has been awarded the advertising account of bookmaker William Hill in a deal reportedly worth a lucrative £15 million (€18.1 million/$24.7 million).

According to the Campaign Live website, Creative was handed the account after putting forward a competitive pitch.

William Hill called a review last November after creative company Fabula, which handled the sportsbook business, declined to re-pitch for the contract.

Fabula was responsible for recent William Hill campaigns such as the ‘football passion’ initiative that featured former Welsh international footballer Robbie Savage and the ‘can you spot the FA Cup?’ idents, which aired on UK commercial broadcaster ITV.

Independent advertising and PR company Beattie McGuinness Bungay also opted not to re-pitch for the account.

The pitching process, which is also reported to have included creative agencies Leagas Delaney and Brothers and Sisters during the early stages, was handled internally.

William Hill confirmed that that its media planning and buying account, which is held by media agency Vizeum, would not be affected by the deal.
