Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has announced that Shane Doherty has been appointed as its first head of finance for online operations.
According to the RPJobs.co.uk website, Doherty will join the bookmaker from Irish telecommunications company Eircom where he had been serving as acting chief financial officer.
He also previously served as group financial controller, commercial director for retail and financial controller for Eircom’s internet business.
Jack Massey, Paddy Power’s director of finance, said he was “delighted” with the addition of Doherty to the bookmaker’s team.
“Shane brings a depth of relevant experience which will assist us in driving business performance,” he said. “He joins an ambitious team in a dynamic business and we look forward to his contribution to the realisation of our strategy.”
