UK gaming operator Rank Group has agreed a deal with Jumio to use its real-time ID verification solution Netverify at its Mecca and Grosvenor Casino gaming sites. The Netverify solution allows operators to verify player identity using the camera on their smartphone or laptop webcam to scan identity documents and complete Know-Your-Customer (KYC) processes. It will be integrated into the Grosvenor Casino and Mecca Bingo sites.
Rank head of digital commercial risk Chris McKarkiel said the Netverify solution would allow the operator to streamline its customer experience while ensuring it complies with KYC requirements.
“Using technology to replace manual processes makes the Mecca & Grosvenor experience quicker and more satisfying for our customers,” he explained.
Jumio marketing director David Pope said the solution’s ability to enhance the customer experience and meet compliance standards had prompted an increased uptake in the Netverify product, with customers including PokerStars, Mr Green and binary options operator XP Capital.
Jumio has also been praised by Clive Hawkswood, chief executive of industry body the Remote Gambling Association.
“Gaming companies have always been at the forefront of embracing new web technologies and it’s great to see that that the remote gaming industry continues to use technology such as Jumio to set new standards in delivering on its commitment to Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance”, Hawkswood said.
