Webis reports revenue rise in interim results

Online casino and sportsbetting provider Webis Holdings has reported an 11% year-on-year increase in turnover for the six-month period through to the end of November 2013.

In a trading update, for the first six months of the financial year, Webis said that sales had increased to £79.2 million (€96.3 million/$132.1 million) from £71.4 million in the corresponding period in 2012.

On the back of the revenue rise, net trading income for the period increased by 34% to £2.6 million, driving comprehensive profit of £100,000 following a loss of £100,000 a year earlier.

Net assets also increased by 68% to £3.2 million from £1.9 million in 2012.

“We have maintained overall growth during the period: traditionally the quieter half of our financial year,” Webis chairman Denham Eke said.

“The board is aware that there will be a number of exciting opportunities, as well as challenges, ahead for both of our operations within the forthcoming year.

“We remain very positive about the Group’s future and are confident that the progress that we have achieved thus far continues to place us in a strong position.”
