Are sponsored pros really worth their weight in gold?
That’s a question Everest Poker are going to be finding an answer to as they complete the audacious signing of one of the most talented poker players in recent history.
Sam Trickett is the $20m man who has owned the live cash games in Macau, owned the Partouche Poker Tour (PPT), owned the Aussie Millions High Rollers, and owned $10m of the inaugural BIG ONE for ONE DROP at the WSOP.
He is young, good looking, talented, has a beautiful woman on his arm and always has something interesting spouting from his mouth – so what more could an online poker room want from a sponsored professional?
Well what about this?
Sam Trickett and Everest Poker have decided to give away 10% of Trickett’s winnings at the WSOP (Excluding the ONE DROP) in the first of many promotions involving the former gas fitter from Nottingham, and this is one horse you really do want to back because he has made a special promise to…his Mum.
“It will make the World Series grind a lot easier knowing I have a lot of players sweating my results this year. I’ve promised my Mum a bracelet and will be doing my very best to score big for everyone who’ll own a share in me.” Said Trickett.
Everest Director, Des Duffy, is delighted with the deal: “We want to encourage UK players to get behind Sam’s quest for a first bracelet this summer, so we’re excited to reveal that Sam will be offering players the chance to win a 10% share of his winnings in the 20 to 30 WSOP bracelet events he enters this year, excluding the ONE DROP. I think for players who can’t make it to Las Vegas themselves having a share in Sam will be the next big thing.”
When you consider that Trickett hasn’t played a lot of WSOP events his record in Vegas is quite impressive. In addition to the huge $10m haul he picked up for finishing second to Antonio Esfandiari in the BIG ONE for ONE DROP he has a runner-up and fourth place finish in the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em Event (NLHE) events, a seventh place finish in the $25,000 NLHE Six-Handed event and a fourth place finish in a €5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) event in Paris.
Players who would like to get riding the Sam Trickett horse need to head to Everest Poker where they can find more details on how to take advantage of this deal, and own a piece of one of the most talented poker players as he heads into the biggest tournament series in the world.
Trickett will be wearing the Everest patch at the Gioco Digitale WPT Venice carnival where he is expected to appear in both the High Roller and Main Event.
