Svenska Spel has paid a hefty price tag of $400,000 to fund gambling research at Lund University’s Faculty of Medicine.
Chief executive Lennart Käll believes that more knowledge on the issue will eventually aid in the protection of players.
Gunilla Westergren-Thorsson, dean of the Faculty of Medicine believes that there has not been enough research into gambling addiction and said, “Therefore, we need to learn more about this specific area and it is particularly pleasing that Lund University has been awarded this unique mission.”
