The Digital Gaming Taskforce will provide strategic direction to further enable the community to take advantage of its strengths to develop projects and implement an investment attraction strategy.
The new division will be run by the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation in partnership with the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre.
The group will consist of Tom Marinelli, acting chief executive officer of Ontario Lottery and Gaming, as well as Anup Kumar, executive director for charitable gaming at the Canadian Banknote Company.
In addition, Terry DeBono, a partner at The Debono Group, and Doug Pollard, co-chief executive officer of Pollard Banknote, have been brought on board.
David Schantz, vice-president of academic and research at Algoma University, and Leo Tiberi, vice president of academic at Sault College, have also been added to the group.
Tom Dodds, chief executive officer of the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation and Tom Vair, executive director of the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre, make up the new division.
