Unibet has announced that it intends to temporarily withdraw from the Russian online gaming market citing a surge of enforcement interest from Russian prosecutors and enforcement officials.The Swedish online gambling operator said it has started the withdrawal by halting new player registrations and pulling back from regional marketing campaigns for both Unibet.com and its associated site Maria.com.
The advisory has made it clear that the company intends to continue serving existing Russian customers, and that its ban on new sign-ups will not include customers from other Russian-speaking nations.
