Exchange betting operator Matchbook has expanded its product offering ahead of the start of the World Cup with the launch of table games, the first non-sports betting products to go live on its site. The operator has launched blackjack and roulette games, initially for desktop, and will add five more table games over the coming weeks before adding mobile versions of the products later in the year.
The casino roll-out follows the operator’s launch of new apps for Android and iPad devices, expanding its mobile offering which already includes a native iPhone app and responsive mobile site.
Both apps offer the same functionality as the company’s desktop product, including full deposit and withdrawal features.
The company’s chief operating officer Cian Nugent described the World Cup as a very exciting time for the business, with the tournament being the first high-profile sporting event to take place since the relaunch of the brand.
“To be able to deliver all of these products in time for the World Cup is a testament to the time and investment put in to upgrading our core technology last year,” Nugent said.
Matchbook has also reduced the commission rate on all fotball handicap matches to 0.5 per cent for the tournament, designed to take advantage of the number of mismatched games scheduled to take place in the World Cup group stages.
The promotion has been launched following the success of Matchbook’s 0 per cent football promotion earlier this year, which helped boost liquidity for the sport.
