Online payment solutions provider Optimal Payments has struck a deal to become an official sponsor of English Premier League football team Crystal Palace.
The deal will run for two years, from the 2014-15 season until 2015-16.
Optimal will use the deal to promote its NETELLER service, the branding of which will feature on the front of players’ jerseys throughout the deal.
The deal, which was agreed through the SportQuake agency, will see Optimal become the first EPL sponsor within the online payments market.
“The Premier League attracts the highest global viewership in international sports, with an estimated global audience of 4.4 billion,” Optimal Payments, president and chief executive officer, Joel Leonoff, said.
“This sponsorship signifies an opportunity to support one of the league’s most exciting teams while promoting our innovative payment solutions worldwide.”
Steve Parish, chairman of Crystal Palace, added: “We are thrilled to have NETELLER on board and really excited at the prospect of working with them on the growth of its online payments business.
“As soon as we met the team they felt like the right partner for us and it was important for the vision of our club to work with an exciting, multi-market consumer brand.
