Online gaming marketing services provider XLMedia has completed the acquisition of an unnamed Scandinavian website network within the internet gaming sector for $2.3 million (€1.7 million).
XLMedia said the deal would enhance its current presence in Scandinavia by extending its reach into the regulated Danish market.
The deal will enable XLMedia to access online casino and poker websites primarily located in Denmark.
XLMedia said such websites generate ‘high value added content’ and will enable it to refer ‘significant’ amounts of customers to its partner brands.
The news comes shortly after XLMedia acquired two domains in North America during the first half of 2014, deals that also formed part of the company’s expansion strategy.
“Since our IPO in March this year, we have continued to make good progress with positioning XLMedia to capitalise on the significant growth opportunities in the online gaming sector,” XLMedia chief executive officer Ory Weihs said.
“This acquisition represents a complementary fit for our business, strengthening our reach in Scandinavia and providing entry into Denmark, a fully regulated territory.”
XLMedia also confirmed it will continue to buy domains and websites as part of its ongoing growth strategy.
