Interactive gaming software and services provider GTECH has finalised a deal with OPAP to provide its Intelligent VLT Central Information System to the Greek lottery operator.
The system will monitor and control up to 35,000 VLTs in the operator’s new network, with GTECH expected to connect its system to OPAP’s concessionaire VLTs later this year following approval of the system by the Hellenic Gaming Commision.
“GTECH’s extensive experience deploying large-scale, open standards-based VLT Central Systems for World Lottery Association customers around the world will help OPAP maximise the benefits of its new VLT programme,” GTECH International president and chief executive officer Walter Bugno said.
“Intelligen’s open-standards architecture and foundational features, including its integrated responsible gaming solution, will ensure the programme’s success and long-term sustainability, which ultimately benefit the people of Greece.”
In March, OPAP appointed GTECH as its new online betting partner following a tender process that featured five companies.
