Sportradar extends integrity partnership with CONCACAF

Sports data provider Sportradar has renewed its partnership with the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) for the 2014-15 football season. Under the terms of the partnership Sportradar will monitor betting activity on a range of competitions organised by CONCACAF as well as regional competitions, continuing the relationship that was first established in 2012.

Sportradar will use its Fraud Detection System (FDS) to monitor bets placed on CONCACAF events, notifying the confederation of any suspicition bets or betting patterns.

CONCACAF director of sports integrity commented that the need to protect its competitions from any sort of negative impact, namely that of match-fixing, is very important for the organisation.

“The Fraud Detection System is a powerful tool in our arsenal in the fight against match manipulation,” she added.

“Sportradar have been working closely with CONCACAF since 2012 and we are delighted that they have placed their trust in us and in our Fraud Detection System yet again,” the supplier’s managing directory for strategy and integrity Andreas Krannich commented.

“CONCACAF is a vibrant and progressive confederation, and a key stakeholder in the global football landscape,” Krannich continued. “They have shown an ongoing commitment to achieving and promoting sporting integrity in all its guises. It is a badge of honour for Sportradar that they continue to see us as one of their key allies.”

Sportradar, through its Security Services division, operates the Fraud Detection System for a number of confederations, including the Asian Football Confederation and European football’s governing body UEFA.
