Konami strengthens management team with quartet of promotions

US games supplier Konami Gaming has made a number of key leadership promotions as it looks to strengthen and expand its business operations and  leadership development. Four long-serving executives have been promoted to new positions. Eric Schultz has taken on the role of senior director of game software development; Gary Snobel is now senior director of corporate planning and IT administration; Clark Warren has been promoted to senior director of systems sales and James Sargeant has become senior director of manufacturing.

“As these recent promotions demonstrate, we have made a strategic investment in leadership development over the past few years, with a focus on empowering highly-qualified professionals who are committed and equipped to support the long term success of Konami,” the supplier’s chief operating officer and executive vice president Steve Sutherland commented.

“We place great value on maintaining a thriving core leadership team that tackles market challenges while working collaboratively across disciplines to deliver innovative products and services that drive our company to the next level,” he added.

In his new role Schultz will take responsibility for the leadership and direction of the company’s domestic and international software development strategy, maintaining and coordinating engineering and design teams across product development, platform software and software release cycle. He has spent the past decade with Konami, moving up from a member of the software development team through a variety of management positions.

Snobel, meanwhile, will oversee company-wide systems and infrastructure solutions, financial analysis and planning, as well as internal and external auditing. His role will largely be focused on ensuring the company is compliant with accounting standards, gaming regulations and corporate operating policies. Having joined Konami in 2006, he also has experience of the gambling industry through roles with Boyd Corporation and MGM Grand.

As senior director of systems sales Clark Warren will focus on new business development and building strategic relationships across Konami’s customer base, and devise plans and initiatives to drive sales growth.

The final director to be promoted, James Sargeant, will take responsibility for games and systems production operations, directing new and refurbishment production and purchasing materials. He has more than 20 years’ experience in engineering and operations management, and joined Konami in 2011.
