Online financial services and spread betting firm London Capital Group (LCG) has appointed Charles-Henri Sabet as executive chairman with immediate effect.
The move will see current chairman Giles Vardy step down from the role but remain on the LCG board as a non-executive senior independent director.
The appoint follows the recent regulatory approvals in reference to Sabet and GLIO Global Investments Opportunities Management, a property trading and investment service provider of which Sabet was a director until recently.
Prior to his role at GLIO, Sabo set up foreign exchange specialist Trading and Commercial Consulting and was founder and chairman of Synthesis Bank Geneva, which was sold to Saxo Bank in 2007.
In addition, he previously served as chairman and head of global trading at Saxo Group and was a non-executive director of investment firm JIFFIX Markets until its sale earlier this year.
“Mr Sabet has spent a considerable amount of time getting to know the company’s business, understanding the group and the board’s longer-term growth strategy,” LCG said.
“The board looks forward to his active involvement in the day-to-day running of the company.”
