New Jersey enjoys online gaming revenue jump in August

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has announced that the US state experienced a jump in online gaming revenue during August, marking the second consecutive month of growth.

The state’s regulated online gaming market generated $10.5 million (€8.1 million) in revenue during the month, up from $10.1 million in July.

Revenue from online poker amounted to around $2.3 million in August, which is up 5% on the $2.2 million achieved in the previous month, while other authorised games were responsible for $8.3 million of total online gaming revenue for the month.

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, combined with the PartyPoker internet poker brand of its online gaming operator bwin.party, remains the market leader in the state after it generated $3.5 million in total internet win.

However, Caesars Interactive NJ is not far behind this with a total win of $2.7 million, while the Tropicana is the third most successful online operation in the state with $2.3 million in total internet win.

The August figures place New Jersey’s total internet win for the year-to-date at $83.7 million.

Online poker is responsible for $21.1 million of this total while other authorised games have generated $62.6 million of total internet win.
