Delaware online poker revenue jumps as Nevada plummets

The Delaware Lottery has recorded a month-on-month increase of 24% in online poker revenue during August while its Nevada counterpart reported a significant drop in results.

Regulators in Delaware have posted online poker revenue of $38,655 (€30,475), which represents the second consecutive month of growth after the US state saw online poker revenue rise 22.6% in July.

In addition to online poker, Delaware saw overall online gambling for the month total $172,855, which is up slightly from the previous month.

Despite the success in Delaware, the fellow regulated state of Nevada saw online poker revenue fall for a second consecutive month.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported that the state generated $742,000 in online poker revenue, which represents a drop of 22.5% on the previous month and is the lowest amount since the state began reporting figures.

However, despite this setback, online poker revenue generated in August is up around 8.7% on a year-on-year basis when compared to the $677,000 collected in the same month last year.

Between September 2013 and August 2014, the state of Nevada generated a total of $11.1 million in online gaming win.
