Fruity King linked with Scottish football sponsorship deal

Online gambling company Fruity King is reported to be considering a major sponsorship deal with the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL).

According to a report in the Daily Record newspaper, talks between SPFL head of partnerships Keith Campbell and a broker for Fruity King were confirmed by a spokesperson from the gambling company.

The source also suggested that deal could be worth up to £1.75 million (€2.2 million/$2.7 million) per year.

“It is an opportunity to position our brand as the focal point of the national game and the most prestigious prize in Scotland,” the Fruity King spokesperson said.

Despite the claims from Fruity King, an official spokesperson for the SPFL denied that a deal had been agreed and added that talks are ongoing with a number of brands.

The SPFL spokesperson said: “Talks are live with a number of brands regarding title sponsorship of the SPFL and these discussions will continue.”

Aside from its potential involvement with the SPFL, Fruity King has also claimed to be in sponsorship talks with a number of professional football clubs in England.
