Mondogoal expands portfolio with Chelsea deal

Global fantasy sports platform developer Mondogoal has further expanded its football partnership portfolio after it entered into a deal with English Premier League (EPL) club Chelsea.

Under the agreement, Mondogoal has become a partner of the club and has also developed and launched a Chelsea-branded version of the fantasy sports game.

This new game will be available to Chelsea fans around the world.

“There are few global brands, let alone soccer clubs, that are more progressive and respected than Chelsea FC,” Mondogoal chief executive officer and founder, Shergul Arshad, said.

“In the digital space, their cutting edge work in engaging a worldwide fan base is well documented, and we know that the addition of a unique pay fantasy platform for a first time will extend their engagement with fans even further.”

Mark Bell, head of licensing at Chelsea, added: “As a club we always looks to engage our global fan base in new ways, we see fantasy as a next great opportunity, and are proud to partner with Mondogoal on this new venture.

“We have seen studies that show US daily fantasy sites get 70% of their revenue from NFL games, but around the world 70% of global sports wagering is directed at soccer, so this partnership should be well received by our followers.”

The partnership will further expand the Mondogoal portfolio, which already includes other EPL clubs such as Manchester City, Liverpool and West Ham United.

Mondogoal has also established partnerships with Spanish Liga club Barcelona and Italian Serie A outfit AC Milan.
