Carnival Cruise launches mobile gaming with Scientific Games

Carnival Corporation, one of the largest cruise ship operators in the world, has agreed a deal with gaming supplier Scientific Games to launch a new mobile gaming platform across a number of its cruise ship brands. Carnival’s Mobile Casino allows passengers on board its ships to play a range of poker, slot, and table games while in international waters. This includes content from Scientific Games’ Bally product line, Las Vegas From Home, Play’n GO and PokerTek.

The service is already live on the Carnival Breeze and Carnival Freedom cruise ships, which operate under the company’s Carnival Cruise Line brand, and will be launched shortly on the Regal Princess from the Princess Cruises brand.

Additional installations are pending for the Holland America Line, P&O Cruises (UK) and AIDA Cruises brands.

Marty Goldman, Carnival Corporation’s senior vice president of global casino operations, said he was excited to partner with Scientific Games and its content providers to offer guests a new entertainment option that will enhance their experience aboard the company’s ships

“Scientific Games is a leader in the mobile gaming space and offered the best solution for our needs,” he said. “For the first time, we’re bringing the casino to our guests so they can play their favorite games on their mobile devices when they are lounging by the pool, relaxing in their rooms, or anywhere else onboard.”

Jordan Levin, Scientific Games’ president of Interactive, said: “We are thrilled that Carnival Corporation chose our mobile wagering solution for its cruise ships. This relationship expands the reach of our mobile wagering platform and enables Carnival to engage with their guests in a whole new way by offering a world-class gaming experience that adds more thrills to their vacation at sea.”

The mobile gaming application is available for download in the App Store for iOS devices, and on Google Play for Android devices. The game content can also be accessed onboard through Seaplay.com.

New York and London-listed Carnival Corporation operates 100 ships across its brands, totalling 212,000 lower berths, with eight new ships scheduled to be delivered between 2015 and 2018.

The company also operates Holland America Princess Alaska Tours, the leading tour companies in Alaska and the Canadian Yukon.
