The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has revealed that the US state achieved significant year-on-year growth in terms of online gambling revenue generated during the month of January.
Total internet gaming win for the month amounted to $11.6 million (€10.1 million), which represents an increase of 22.3% on the $9.5 million posted in the same month of the previous year.
January’s figure is also up 8% on total online gaming revenue collected in the previous month of December.
Borgata, in partnership with online poker brand PartyPoker, continues to lead the New Jersey online gaming market after generating $3.8 million in January, which is slightly down on the $3.9 million posted in the same month last year.
In comparison, revenue collected from online gaming services operated out of the Golden Nugget rocketed 759% year-on-year to $2.5 million, although it remains the least successful of the four operators currently live in New Jersey.
The Tropicana also witnessed a significant year-on-year increase in online gaming revenue, which jumped 204.4% to $2.6 million.
Aside from online gaming revenue, New Jersey also saw an increase in total gambling win in January, with this figure increasing 0.9% year-on-year to $197.6 million.
However, taking into account the operators that are no longer live in the state, total gaming win from those companies that were operational in both January 2014 and 2015 represents a much higher percentage increase.
The $197.6 million generated by current operators is 18.8% higher than the $166.3 million collected by the same companies in January of last year.
