A BetAtHome Sportsbook (SBR rating C-) player has submitted a dispute involving a balance of €13,000.
He has told SBR that he registered with BetAtHome more than one yer ago.
He has deposited a few times, and finally accumulated a balance of €13,000. After providing his ID, BetAtHome proceeded to close his account and confiscate his winnings.
An interesting point to note: He was apparently asked by BetAtHome staff if his ID was actually provided by authorities. He is adamant that the ID is legitimate and has said that he will do whatever is necessary to confirm that he is not a fraudster.
Sportsbook Review has suggested that the player have all of his personally identifying documents notarized.
SBR has followed up on the matter with BetAtHome.
The following article relates to why online sportsbooks perform what is called Know Your Customer (KYC) and why the procedure is necessary.
