David Baazov, chairman and chief executive officer of Amaya Gaming, has said that he hopes to launch a US-based PokerStars website in the country by autumn of this year.
Speaking during a conference call following the release of the gaming company’s full-year results, Baazov said that the firm “expects to be up and running” with the online poker brand in the state of New Jersey later this year.
Amaya has a deal in place to become the online presence for the Resorts Atlantic City in the state, with PokerStars currently in the middle of licensing process in New Jersey.
Aside from its plans in New Jersey, Baazov said that Amaya has been lobbying to for online gaming legislation in California and Pennsylvania.
Both states have been linked with regulation following the launch of legislation that could potentially lead to the legalisation of online gaming activities.
In addition, Amaya is said to be planning to launch a daily fantasy sports product, which will be targeted at former players of PokerStars in the US.
Amaya hopes to have the product on the market in time for the start of the 2015 NFL American football season.
