Chroma Appoints Andrew Mciver

Leading digital sports innovator Chroma Sports has appointed former Sportingbet CEO Andrew McIver as non-executive director.

In an independent role, McIver will oversee and advise on Chroma’s executive strategy, financial organisation and international expansion, drawing on his 30 years’ experience in the retail, sports and betting industries.

Chroma creates and maintains mobile, web and tablet applications for leading sports rights holders, media companies, brands, and bookmakers worldwide.
With offices in London, Brighton and Sydney, it has created and maintained award-winning digital sports products for Racecourse Media Group, News UK, Sky Sports, News Australia, Coral, beIN Sports, The Jockey Club, Wimbledon, and Channel 4.

Andrew McIver, Chroma Sports non-executive director, said: “Chroma’s innovation in the digital sports space in recent years has been exceptional. Using my international experience I’ll help develop the company’s global strategy, which is already in rude health thanks to strong partnerships including News Australia, The Jockey Club, RMG and more.”

During his seven-year spell as CEO for online gaming company Sportingbet, McIver developed and diversified the business, expanding operations into 26 countries including Australia, Spain, and Greece.
In March 2013, he oversaw its sale for £480 million to a joint-bid from bookmaker William Hill and sports betting and gaming group GVC.

Prior to Sportingbet, McIver held senior positions with major brands in retail, telecommunications and betting including Ladbrokes, British Telecom, and House of Fraser.

Paddy O’Clery, Chroma Sports CEO, said: “Andy McIver is an important figure in the world of betting, gaming and business and it’s a real coup for us to land someone of his calibre. We’re already delivering exciting digital sports and gaming innovations in the UK and Australia, but his appointment puts us in an even stronger position to grow globally. ”
