Offord joins Playtech from middle market boutique investment bank BDO Capital Markets, where he has served as corporate finance director since September 1994.
During his time with BDO, he oversaw the firm’s transactions services division and developed a knowledge of online gaming and sports betting through his work on various industry projects.
In his new role with Playtech, Offord will support the firm’s future acquisition plans by leading its research and competitor reporting initiatives.
The appointment of Offord comes after Playtech this week announced that it had agreed a deal to acquire Plus500 in a deal that values the Israeli sports betting company at approximately £459.6 million (€636.6 million/$704.3 million).
The deal is due to be completed by the end of September this year.
