Gambling-specific recruitment job board BettingJobs has used its latest ‘Salary Survey’ to reveal the average salaries that certain roles in the industry can command.
The report considered data from gaming industries in the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe, Eastern Europe, Malta, Gibraltar, the Isle of Man and Asia, looking at the 10 job categories of executive, technical, commercial, marketing, trading, finance, analytics, operations, product and legal.
BettingJobs discovered that, of the jobs covered be the survey, the role of chief marketing officer commands the highest wage, with those working in this position within the gambling industry having an average salary of just over £124,600 (€175,000/$196,800).
Director of product came next with an average salary of over £112,400, while country manager and operations director commanded average salaries of approximately £99,400 and £94,100 respectively.
Of the jobs covered by the BettingJobs report, the position of IT designer was the lowest ranked in terms of average salary, with those in this role taking home just over £36,000.
Fiona Hickey, director at BettingJobs, said the general trends from the salary survey should be viewed as “very positive” for the industry, with ongoing development in gaming helping increase wages across the board.
“The results show an industry which continues to evolve and be shaped by the technology which drives its appeal,” Hickey said.
“The channel shift towards mobile has been dramatic and is sure to continue.
“The transition to mobile has seen many of the major operators that we work with seek to broaden their search in terms of where they hope to find the talent to bring into their businesses.
“Many more of our clients are now seeking to bring in candidates with experience from outside the industry.”
