AlphaDraft launches first fantasy eSports mobile app

Fantasy sports platform AlphaDraft has launched its first fantasy eSports app, allowing players to track team stats and participate in free and paid contests via iOS devices.

Players can use the app to manage their teams or enter new competitions on the go, or even when attending major events.

It offers access to contests in which between 2,000 and 10,000 participants compete, and offers cash and real-world prizes to these players.

The app also offers streaming of live eSports events for leading titles such as League of Legends, SMITE, Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and a new title, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, from World of Warcraft developer Blizzard Entertainment.

“With the addition of Blizzard’s Hearthstone, we continue to lead the fantasy eSports industry by supporting the most popular eSports titles as part of our rapidly expanding offering to fans,” AlphaDraft CEO Todd Peterson commented. “It’s part of AlphaDraft’s continuing strategy for exponential growth, and we have absolutely no plans to slow down.”

AlphaDraft has also signed two major eSports tournament partnerships, both of which began July 1st.

The first is with a major team, Team Archon, whose team member Firebat won the Hearthstone BlizzCon World Championships last year, for its Archon Team League Championships.

The second partnership sees AlphaDraft pair up with eSports platform FACEIT and eSports channel, Beyond the Summit, for the Dota 2 America’s Cup Tournament.

“The Archon Team League showcases some of today’s top performers in eSports and signals AlphaDraft’s support of and appreciation for the fans of Blizzard’s Hearthstone,” AlphaDraft director of eSports Robert Del Papa said.

“Meanwhile, FACEIT and Beyond the Summit are leaders in the Dota 2 tournament scene and tangibly demonstrate the high calibre of partners and strategic relationships that AlphaDraft will continue to seek out and attract.”

The app is currently available free in the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch running iOS version 7.1 and above, with an Android version in development and set to be released soon.
