Giorgio Sandi steps down as chairman and CEO of SNAI

Giorgio Sandi has stepped down as chairman and CEO of Italian gaming operator SNAI to be replaced on an interim basis by former Alitalia chief Gabriele Del Torchio, with Cogemat Group CEO Fabio Schiavolin taking over following the merger of the two companies later this year.

SNAI confirmed Monday that Sandi has stepped down with immediate effect, after more than three years in the role.

Sandi was formerly CEO of SISAL from 1991 until 2008, helping the company through its sale to a new control group in 2006. After leaving SISAL, he formed motorcycle manufacturer Headbanger Motor Company S.p.A. He joined SNAI in February 2012 to replace Marco Pierettori.
