North American e-sports organisation Pro Gaming League (PGL) has agreed a deal to acquire mobile application developer DK Squad.
Under the agreement, PGL will take ownership of the ‘League of Legends’ app, which currently boasts more than 360,000 active users.
Developed by Riot Games, League of Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena video game that enables players to interact and play against one another.
As part of the acquisition deal, DK Squad founder Daniel Kim will join PGL as lead mobile developer.
PGL president Chad Larsson said: “The app is an excellent tool to introduce and onboard yet another community to the PGL platform and strengthen our existing user base.
“With DK Squad we have acquired the assets to strengthen our community and our mobile presence with the most downloaded Android app for League of Legends players.”
