Fantasy sports operator Mondogoal has signed up Barclays Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur to launch a new bradned fantasy football ball, as the company continues to expand the number of partnerships it has with leading football teams.
Tottenham becomes the latest leading club to partner the operator, and will launch a Spurs-branded version of Mondogoal’s fantasy football game.
Spurs will promote the game through its digital channels, including its website, which attracts 1.5m unique users each month, and its official Facebook page with nearly 7m followers.
Mondogoal noted that Spurs had a growing profile in the US, with more than 40 official supporters clubs, more than any other Premier League team. It will also compete in the Major League Soccer All-Stars match against a team comprising the league’s highest-profile players.
“We are excited to partner with one of the leading clubs in English football, Tottenham Hotspur,” Mondogoal chief executive Shergul Arshad said. “Tottenham’s rich tradition of playing entertaining and attacking football and the club’s exciting plans for the future – including its partnership with the NFL and new stadium expansion – means we cannot think of a better fanbase to push fantasy football to throughout the world.”
Spurs head of business development Aidan Mulally added: “There is no doubt that fantasy football gaming is a growing engagement platform around the world, and we are proud to be able to offer this innovative opportunity to our fans through a partnership with Mondogoal.”
Mondogoal has also struck partnerships with UK clubs Chelsea, West Ham United, Manchester City and Liverpool, as well as Spain’s FC Barcelona and Italy’s AS Roma.
