Chris Welch has a background in marketing and general management having worked at Director level for Coral, Pokerstars and bwin.party. His most recent gaming role was as Group Director Poker for bwin.party launching its poker business into new regulated markets and leading the brand re-launch of its flagship partypoker brand.
Welch is joined by CTO Mike Ellis after 16 years at William Hill, Betfred and most recently youwin, while Tony Browne joins as CFO following lead finance roles at Ernst & Young, Lumata and Harris Interactive. PKR’s founding CTO Jeremy Longley remains with the business in a consulting role.
Best known for its proprietary 3D poker software, PKR has attracted significant investment in the last 12 months and its launch this month of Jackpot Sit & Go’s, alongside other key upcoming developments, is expected to drive strong growth entering an exciting period for the one-time Tech Track award winner. As well as continued development of the poker platform, the new team will also look to unlock the potential of its casino and sports verticals.
“PKR has long been an innovator in the market”, said Welch, “and at a time when every poker operator is seeking ways to attract and retain the recreational poker player, PKR’s innovative and unique poker software puts the business ahead of the curve. Our aim is clearly to develop our product offering further to become a true multi-product offering and strengthen our mobile proposition. I am delighted to be leading this great business and to be joined by Mike and Tony who bring a wealth of industry and non-industry experience, to unlock the true potential of this business.”
