Sportradar expands football rights portfolio for live streaming

Sports data solutions provider Sportradar has significantly expanded its live streaming coverage, acquiring rights to league and cup football competitions in Greece, Turkey and Romania.

The new leagues will be added to the supplier’s Live Channel Online and Live Channel Retail services, with the Greek top football division, the Super League, the latest to be added.

Sportradar will stream a minimum of two matches per round of the league via its Betradar brand, mainly focused around the leading clubs Panathonikos and Olympiakos.

“With our Live Channels Online and Retail, we are providing dedicated live streaming solutions to the betting industry,” Sportradar’s managing director of media rights Jörn Anhalt said. “The latest extensions to our portfolio are again truly betting relevant focusing on off-peak slots in the daily schedule of the bookmaker’s offering.”

It has also added coverage of Romania’s Liga 1 and the country’s national football cup competition Cupa Ligii. With more than 250 matches per season, all played on weekdays, Sportradar believes the rights are highly attractive for betting operators, with coverage available across online, mobile and retail betting services.

Finally, the supplier has acquired the rights to Turkey’s Ziraat Türkiye Kupasi cup, which will be made available on Betradar’s Live Channel Retail. Matches in the competition are generally played on weekdays, with high-profile teams such as Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Trabzonspor competing.

“The pool of events we are now offering to our clients are spread strategically across all hours and days throughout the year to unlock new turnover potential and entertainment solutions for bookmakers,” Anhalt added.
