A MarathonBet Sportsbook player based in Canada has filed a payout complaint.
The player has been attempting to place a withdrawal for $916 for over two months.
The player detailed having his wagering limits reduced to $1 across the board, prompting him to ask to be paid his balance, but he has yet to receive payment from the online betting site.
When online sportsbooks lower limits drastically, it is a sign that the sportsbook is no longer keen on accepting more action from the player. Sportsbooks can cut a player’s limits however they like, as long as the player is dealt with fairly should a sportsbook bonus be in the middle of being rolled over.
The player first requested $916 over two months ago after being limited and claims he sent all necessary documents to receive payment. He detailed several requests from MarathonBet that took issue with the quality of the documents, but the player held off on filing a complaint at the time because he was worried that complaining might cause him further delay.
He claims the documents MarathonBet has taken issue with were used to pass the KYC process at well-regarded online sportsbooks that are similarly licensed and regulated.
The player claims to have went to the bank personally more than once to attempt to satisfy MarathonBet, but his situation remains at a standstill, so he filed a complaint with SBR seeking assistance.
MarathonBet Player: “They are holding $916 USD from me and I don’t know if I will ever get it. I even asked them if they can convert the funds to Canadian to see if it will make this much easier but they refused to do that. Please help me I don’t know what else to do, I keep going in circles with this site.”
SBR has followed up on this complaint with a MarathonBet manager.
