Fantasy football platform brokers Leicester City partnership

Daily fantasy football platform Oulala.com has entered into a partnership with English Premier League football club Leicester City.

Under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, Oulala has developed and launched a bespoke Leicester City version of its fantasy football game.

The game, which went live prior to the English league leaders’ game against Newcastle United on November 21, will enable supporters from around the world to challenge fellow fans to head-to-head contests with the aim of winning money for their teams.

Oulala, which launch in 2013, will also benefit from exposure inside the team’s King Power Stadium home ground, as well as within the matchday programme and on the club’s various official digital channels.

“Fantasy football is a relatively established platform in the UK and this will give supporters the chance to pick their sides on their own bespoke-branding LCFC website,” Leicester commercial director Ian Flanagan said.

“This partnership also adds to our global appeal – fantasy football is a huge and growing industry in countries such as the US and it will provide those Foxes supporters Stateside and elsewhere an opportunity to take part in the LCFC experience.”

Valery Bollier, chief executive of Oulala Games, added: “This partnership is symbolic for Oulala. Leicester City has been able to do great things, and the club has enjoyed a fantastic start to the season.

“We believe there are a number of synergies between their business and ours, and that we share many of the same values.”
