Lottoland, the Gibraltar-based lottery betting specialist, has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of former 888 executive Lucky Multani as chief operating officer.
Multani served more than sixteen years with 888, joining the operator’s deposits teams in 1999, before moving on to head-up its fraud prevention and anti-money laundering processes over the following years.
In 2011 he was promoted to VP fraud and risk management, and most recently served as VP risk management and regulatory operation that involved managing teams in New Jersey, Antigua and Gibraltar.
In his role as COO at Lottoland, Multani’s primary responsibility will cover the fraud, payments, legal and compliance aspects of Lottoland’s business and its operational performance. He will also be involved with the development of the technology strategy.
Commenting on his appointment, Multani said: “Lottoland has achieved a great deal in a short space of time and opened up a new category of online gaming through an innovative approach to betting on lotteries.
“It has a great future ahead and I am really looking forward to helping to ensure that it remains at the top of this new fast-moving and exciting online gaming category.”
It is the second senior appointment made by Lottoland in recent weeks, following the recruitment of Glen Bullen as vice president of the company’s new B2B division Lottoland Solutions.
“Lucky’s vast experience and understanding of online gaming regulation will prove invaluable as we continue to quickly develop Lottoland, which is already the established market-leader in its field with 2 million registered customers in its first two years of operation,” said Nigel Birrell, CEO at Lottoland.
