Ainsworth to strengthen creative team as lead game developer departs

Australian gaming supplier Ainsworth Game Technology has confirmed the resignation of Scott Clarebrough as group general manager of strategy and development.

Heading up the supplier’s 45-strong game design team, Clarebrough was behind a number of Ainsworth’s most successful games in the past few years, helping to develop popular titles such as Showgirls and The Sound of Music.

Prior to joining Ainsworth, Clarebrough held senior management positions as marketing director of IGT Australasia and as general manager of commercial operations for gaming and lottery operators at Tatts Group.

“During his time at Ainsworth, Scott has provided impressive leadership, guidance and training to a now well established team of game designers and product development engineers,” said Ainsworth CEO Danny Gladstone.

“On behalf of the board we thank Scott for his contribution to Ainsworth and we wish him and his family well.”

Despite the retirement of Clarebrough, Ainsworth said that the supplier remains well placed to deliver on an “exciting” pipeline of new products and opportunities.

“The company plans to broaden the management across the product development division with a number of key game designers having recently been recruited,” said Ainsworth. “The development and planning to further strengthen Ainsworth’s proposed US based creative team will assist the company to build a sustainable, profitable and growing business in the large American markets.”

Gladstone added: “I have confidence that our game designers will produce exciting games for the gaming market world-wide.”
