Scientific Games has announced that it is to promote Michael Quartieri to the role of executive vice-president, chief financial officer and secretary.
Quartieri will begin his new role after the company files its 2015 Form 10-K and will succeed Scott Schweinfurth, who confirmed his departure last month.
Based at the Scientific Games headquarters in Las Vegas, Quartieri will assume responsibility for the company’s finance function, including accounting, financial planning and reporting, internal controls, investor relations, treasury, tax and financial operations.
Quartieri joined Scientific Games last month as vice-president and corporate controller, following a nine-year spell with Las Vegas Sands Corp.
Gavin Isaacs, president and chief executive of Scientific Games, said: “Michael has a proven track record of achieving results by partnering with operations to drive growth and cash flow, while implementing significant strategic, financial and operational improvements.
“He has quickly become a key member of our leadership team, and we look forward to Michael’s many contributions in the years ahead.”
Meanwhile, Scientific Games has extended a deal with the Pacific Online Systems Corporation (POSC) for the supply and maintenance of an electronic lottery system in the Visayas and Mindanao regions of the Philippines.
Under the three-year extension, which will run through to July 2018, Scientific Games will supply 1,500 new ‘WAVE’ lottery terminals by the end of this month.
Scientific Games, which will also provide the POSC with maintenance services, also supplies the organisation with instant games and an instant ticker validation system.
POSC president Willy Ocier said: “The new terminals installed through this contract extension will allow us to retire some of our older terminals and provide our retailers with advanced technology that drives efficiencies and makes it easy and convenient for retailers to sell lottery games.”
Michael Conforti, president of corporate development and global strategic accounts for Scientific Games, added: “We appreciate the professionalism and creativity exhibited by POSC and its leadership team, and we look forward to supporting their numerous growth initiatives over the next several years.”
