A MarathonBet Sportsbook player has submitted feedback detailing a negative experience.
The player has been wagering with MarathonBet for the last three months, and has lost what he described as a large sum of money overall.
He recently deposited €11,100, at which point his account was blocked by the betting site.
The player was asked to provide a variety of documents, including a copy of his passport, driver’s license, certification of his driver’s license, utility bill payments, then a photograph holding all of the aforementioned documents next to his face.
The player provided all of the requested documents but his account remains blocked by MarathonBet. No answer from customer service has been provided on the status of his account, so the player filed a sportsbook complaint seeking assistance from SBR.
SBR will update as more information is learned on this case. The biggest knock on MarathonBet from players has been the lack of communicated information whenever accounts are in review, and the sheer amount of time it takes to complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) process.
