A Fonbet Sportsbook (SBR rating C) player has launched an account complaint.
The player registered on December 30 and deposited $1,000 via WebMoney. He claims that he increased his balance to $5,646 after 48 hours of play.
At this point, Fonbet slashed the player’s maximum wager size to just $30.
Fonbet is within their right to lower the player’s limit; as no sportsbook bonus was at play, the betting site exercised their risk management and adjust the player’s wagering limits. Online sportsbooks are in the business of making money and accounts considered unprofitable will find similar treatment depending on their playing style.
As part of complying with the Know Your Customer (KYC) process, Fonbet asked the player to provide a copy of his passport along with a document showing himself holding the document. The player complied with the request, but was accused of using Adobe Photoshop to edit the documents.
The player has submitted that he has played with online betting sites for over four years and has never had an issue verifying his account in the pass. Fonbet has allegedly stopped responding to his emails, prompting him to submit a sportsbook complaint.
SBR is investigating the case.
