A MarathonBet Sportsbook (SBR rating B+) player has filed a sportsbook complaint.
The player opened his sports betting account with MarathonBet on July 11. His initial deposit was made via Skrill. MarathonBet later restricted the player’s wagering limits and asked for a variety of documents in line with their Know Your Customer (KYC) process.
The player provided the documents including his passport, a utility bill, and a photo holding the passport. After providing the required documents, the player has claimed that the sports betting site closed his account and refunded only his $99 deposit. The remainder of his $384.7 balance was not paid.
MarathonBet Sportsbook advised the player that the decision to close his account and prevent his winnings from being withdrawn was final. He has claimed to have no idea why the action was taken, and has asked Sportsbook Review for assistance.
Sportsbook Review will update as more information becomes available.
