Eastern European gaming operator Fortuna Entertainment Group has struck a deal to become a major sponsor of all levels of Czech football, including its domestic leagues and the national team.
Through a six-year deal with the Czech Football Association, Fortuna becomes a partner of the Czech national football team as well as the title sponsor of the country’s top football division, which will be renamed the Fortuna liga from the beginning of the 2018-19 season.
The operator will also become a partner of the country’s club cup competition, known as the MOL Cup, and the Super Cup which is played between the winner of the Czech First League and MOL Cup.
The gaming operator’s sponsorship further extends to the Czech Football League, the country’s second division and the third-tier Moravian Silesian Football League, as well as regional divisions.
Fortuna said that football represents a key sport for the company, with more than half of all bets being placed on the sport. After the English Premier League, the Czech football league is the next most popular football competition among Fortuna’s players.
