Altenar will be providing the sports betting services to a new set of customers in territories covered by a Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) licence after “long-standing partner” Finnplay – a Nordic-based open gaming platform provider – picked up its Type 2 licence.
Stanislav Silin, CEO of Altenar, said: “Finnplay is a long-standing partner and customer of Altenar, and we are delighted to be given the opportunity to provide Sports Betting services to this rapidly growing technology company and their customers in the new territories that are now accessible via this MGA vertical acquisition.”
Martin Prantner, CEO of The Finnplay Group, added: “Betting is the highest growth area of the iGaming market, so achieving the MGA Type 2 licence is a great accomplishment that will enable Finnplay to offer market-leading betting games and integrations to all our brand and platform partners.”
The Type 2 licence for an MGA-licensed service provider covers “games of chance played against the house, the outcome of which is not generated randomly, but is determined by the result of an event or competition extraneous to a game of chance, and whereby the operator manages his or her own risk by managing the odds offered to the player”.
This MGA approval for Finnplay comes on the back of the successful extension of its Swedish Casino Licence. The group’s online gaming services for Sweden are licensed through its white label multi-channel casino and betting solutions provider Viral Interactive.
