William Hill US today began racebook operations at Casino Miami, marking the organization’s first Florida operation in its 85 year history.
Joe Asher, chief executive of William Hill US; Phil Ruffin, Casino Miami owner; Dan Licciardi, Casino Miami general manager; and Aritz Erkiaga, Miami Jai Alai player, were in attendance to cut the opening ribbon and welcome bettors to watch and wager on some of the most exciting races.
The modernized 2,300 square feet space next to the casino’s poker room is equipped with a state-of-the-art viewing facility which includes 10 50-inch TV screens in addition to a 30 foot video wall for racing fans to be able to watch a variety of tracks simultaneously. Seating includes a mix of high-top tables with plush chairs and 30 race carrells.
The Race Book offers pari-mutuel simulcast wagering. Bettors will be able to watch and wager on major Thoroughbred, Harness, and Greyhound tracks as well as Jai Alai from around the country.
