Fortuna launches Polish Sportsbook on Playtech’s omni-channel platform

Playtech, the world’s leading gambling technology company,  announced that Fortuna, the largest betting and gaming operator in Central and Eastern Europe, has completed the migration of its Sportsbook in Poland onto Playtech’s IMS platform. This follows the launch of Fortuna’s omni-channel platforms with Playtech in Slovakia and Czech Republic, with further integrations in Romania and Croatia to follow.

The migration is the latest development in Fortuna and Playtech’s omni-channel partnership in Central and Eastern Europe with Croatia being the 5th country that is planned to go live later on this year with IMS as the core gaming platform and FEG Sportsbook integrated to it.  Poland is the latest country where Fortuna can now manage their players from a single platform, delivering a single 360 degree view of players across all migrated countries, as well as being able to utilise Playtech’s player engagement centre and responsible gambling tools.

Fortuna has grown into Central and Eastern Europe’s leading betting and gaming operator in since Playtech first partnered with the company in August 2016. Highlights of its partnership include launching the first online casino in the Czech Republic.

Per Widerstrom, CEO at Fortuna Entertainment Group, said: “Our strategic partnership with Playtech continues to be integral to our growth plans, as well as our successes so far. This migration will offer Polish customers a leading user experience, and more broadly it confirms our omni-channel leadership in Central and Eastern Europe.”

Shimon Akad, Playtech Chief Operating Officer, added: “This is just the latest step in what continues to be an impressive growth trajectory for Fortuna, and we know there is a lot more to come. As well as highlighting the power of Playtech ONE as a solution for licences, this is also a prime example of how Playtech can be the technology provider of choice for companies as they expand and build their offerings in new markets.”

About Fortuna:

The Fortuna Entertainment Group was established in 2009 and it is the largest Central European betting operator. Originally a Czech firm, it has grown into a holding company over time, and it now also operates on the Slovak, Polish, Romanian and Croatian markets. The group is constantly investing in new products and expanding its existing network of branches and services.

Fortuna is an established brand on the market and among customers thanks to its 20-year history. During this period, the group has shaped itself as a leader in setting trends in the betting sector. This has been borne out by the rapid rise in online betting, which the Fortuna Group was one of the first to introduce in Slovakia and subsequently in the Czech Republic and Poland. Professional and experienced bookmakers with an excellent understanding of local markets are a key lynchpin of the company. A knowledge of sport and the betting environment enables them to set odds so that the company is highly competitive and attractive to clients as well, because good bookmaking also allows for large bets to be accepted. At the same time, Fortuna makes clients feel sure that their winnings will be paid out to them quickly.
