Sports data supplier Betgenius has extended its exclusive rights to Liga ACB, Spain’s leading basketball competition.
Under the deal, Betgenius will continue to capture and distribute data from Liga ACB games to sportsbook operators, as it has since 2016.
In addition, Liga ACB has also launched its first “rights enforcement programme”, through which unauthorised data collectors will be removed from its stadia if found.
“We increasingly appreciate the importance of our competition’s data and we take the choice of our data partner very seriously, so after the experience of previous seasons we are glad to establish a long-term partnership with Genius Sports,” Joan M. Carreras, international development director at ACB, said.
“Its expertise with data management and its involvement in integrity are a guarantee for us in such sensitive matters.”
Liga ACB, the top domestic basketball league outside of the US, contains 18 teams, with TD Systems Baskonia winning the competition in 2020.
“With several esteemed clubs including FC Barcelona Bàsquet and Real Madrid Baloncesto, ACB is globally regarded as one of the best, most competitive leagues in basketball,” Sean Conroy, commercial director at Genius Sports, said.
“We’re proud to extend this partnership as their exclusive official data partner, providing continued investment and opportunities to engage new fans around the world.”
In January, Betgenius extended its exclusive live data betting deal with Euroleague Basketball, operator of the top two men’s club basketball competitions in Europe.
