The British Gambling Commission has approved a combined remote operating licence covering virtual sports for sports betting and igaming supplier, BetConstruct.
The licence allows the supplier to deliver all eight of its virtual sports games to licensed operators under white label, turnkey and API solutions.
The virtual portfolio includes Virtual Football Pro, Virtual Football League, Virtual Football Penalty Kicks, Horse Racing, Greyhound Racing, Virtual Bicycle, Marble Racing and Virtual Drag Racing.
BetConstruct is currently in the process of securing approvals for more of its products. Its virtuals were licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority in May 2020, alongside its keno products.
It has expanded its footprint with several new partnerships in 2020, including a social and sports deal with the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma and a strategic partnership with R. Franco Digital in June, at a time when it also received a Swedish licence for its white-label subsidiary, Vivaro.
In September, it partnered with French casino operator Barrière Group, for the launch of its new online betting platform, BarrièreBet.
Figures from the Gambling Commission released earlier today (14 October) showed a decline in gaming yield across all verticals in the UK for August 2020. That month, virtual sports revenue declined 16.1% from July, showing a £6.7m monthly total, down 47.9% from its April peak of £12.8m.
