BetMakers ventures into Jamaican horse racing market

Australia-based BetMakers Technology Group has signed a new partnership with Prime Sports Jamaica (PSJ) and Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment (SVREL) – two subsidiaries of Supreme Ventures.

Through its BetMakers DNA (BDNA) and Managed Training Services (MTS) divisions, BetMaker has sealed the rights to manage fixed odds wagering for all fixed bets placed on Jamaican and international horse race meetings through SVREL’s channels.

BetMakers will also distribute data to international online operators from marquee races at Jamaica’s flagship racing track, Caymanas Park, via its Global Racing Network.

“We are excited to partner with Supreme Ventures and Caymanas Park to bring fixed odds betting on horse racing into Jamaica and to export the Caymanas Park race meetings through our Global Racing Network to the rest of the world,” said Todd Buckingham, Managing Director of BetMakers Technology Group.

“This new deal again highlights our business model and intentions to partner with regulated race tracks and licensed wagering operators across the world to help sustain and grow any region’s racing industry through a globalisation of racing using BetMakers’s data and technology platforms.”

In addition, BetMakers has signed a sponsorship deal with SVREL which will see the wagering company secure the exclusive naming and branding rights to a new training pavilion at Caymanas Park, as well as increased exposure at SVREL events.

The BetMakers board said that whilst it cannot ‘quantify the economic impact’ of its new partnership, it expects the commercial deal to have a ‘material impact’ on the company’s revenues.

Supreme Ventures Chairman, Gary Peart, said: “Supreme Ventures believes that the fixed odds innovation that BetMakers has championed in North America will deliver a huge benefit to the global racing industry as it competes against other sports in an increasingly competitive sports betting market.

“We are very proud to be one of the first tracks that will implement the sophisticated fixed odds system that BetMakers provides, and we see this new deal as a major transformational change for the Jamaican horse racing industry.”
